Carved into caves along the Yellow River's northern bank in Yongjing county, Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture, Gansu province, the Bingling Temple Grottoes date back to the Western Qin Dynasty (385-431).

There are now 216 grottoes, more than 800 statues and vivid murals spanning more than 1,000 square meters, showcasing a unique fusion of the Han Chinese Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism art styles. As a treasure trove of Buddhist art, the Bingling Temple Grottoes also stand as a living testament to ancient ingenuity.
