Children's cultural study: Virtually exploring Turkmenistan

Children went online to explore Turkmenistan at Datang Night City, Xi'an in Shaanxi province on Dec 21. Xi’an was a starting point of the ancient Silk Road during Western Han Dynasty (206 BC –AD 24).

Participants in the "Silk Road Children's Tour - Turkmenistan Exploration Online Tour" acted as cultural ambassadors, aiming to understand the history of the ancient Silk Road and the contemporary cultural exchanges fostered by the Belt and Road Initiative.

Silk Road cultural volunteers from Turkmenistan gave a rundown on their country’s geography, history and culture.

Xiao Lu, the event organizer said that holding such an event would enable children to broaden their international vision, improve their cross-cultural communication ability, and enhance their understanding of the joint construction of "the Belt and Road".

According to Xiao, more exciting theme activities and routes will be launched, providing children with greater opportunities to experience diverse cultures.
