The overture, composed and arranged by Professor Hu Tingjiang from the China Conservatory of Music, sets the tone with a powerful performance featuring a mixed choir and orchestra. The production weaves together well-known pieces, such as March of the Volunteers, Song of Selling Newspapers and Graduation Song, into a seamless narrative.
"The audience feedback was impressive. Familiar melodies resonate throughout the theater, creating a sense of nostalgia while drawing audiences into the unfolding drama," says Huang Xunguo, a professor of the opera department of the China Conservatory of Music who plays the role of Nie in the production.
