The Momoge National Nature Reserve in Zhenlai town of Baicheng, Jilin province, recently welcomed a large group of migratory birds.

Over 7,000 birds, including white cranes, gray cranes, white-head cranes, and white-naped cranes, have gathered at the Momoge Wetland, attracting tourists, photographers and birdwatchers.

Located on the border of Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the Momoge reserve has rich natural resources and is a key habitat for migratory birds in China, attracting over 100,000 birds to rest every year.

To ensure the safety of the migratory birds and the harmony of their habitat, local governments and volunteer organizations have jointly implement grid management, collectively safeguarding the wetland.

They have enhanced patrols, community outreach, wildlife rescue operations, water quality monitoring, disease surveillance and garbage cleanup, creating a perfect rest stop for the migratory birds.
