The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Forestry announced on Monday that during this year's National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, parks in the capital welcomed a combined 12.21 million visits, marking a 7.86 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The Temple of Heaven Park, the Summer Palace and Yuanmingyuan, also known as the Old Summer Palace, were the most popular destinations, hosting 950,900, 940,700 and 628,400 visits, respectively, during the holiday.
Throughout the National Day holiday, Beijing's parks showcased their characteristics by setting up themed flower terraces, each with its own unique charm. The decorations included traditional Chinese knots and red lanterns.
