The 2024 "Tea and the World: Sharing Intangible Cultural Heritage" event kicked off in Pu'er, Yunnan province on Wednesday. Running for three days, the event features exhibitions of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) related to tea, as well as markets and performances reflecting the Ancient Tea Horse Road culture.

Traditional Chinese tea-making techniques and related customs were included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2022, while the Cultural Landscape of Old Tea Forests of the Jingmai Mountain in Pu'er was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 2023.
