Chongqing is the leading inland port for whole-vehicle imports. By the end of last year, the city had imported nearly 40,000 whole vehicles, ranking first in China's inland regions in quantity and brand diversity, said Song Kaicheng from Chongqing Fanou Railway Port Management on Monday.

The company operates the Chongqing Railway Port, part of the Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park, along with Tuanjiecun Station and the dry port of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the Shapingba district. The park covers a planned 3,550 square kilometers and has emerged as a key hub for international freight trains in western China.

Chongqing is located on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and boasts key geographic advantages as an international logistics hub. The city is a strategic pivot point for national development programs in western regions. It is a connecting point serving the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
