Mei Lanfang (1894-1961), a distinguished Peking and Kunqu Opera artist in 20th-century China, was dedicated to studying and developing the art of hand gestures in opera.
Now, Prince Kung’s Palace Museum in Beijing is holding a special exhibition showcasing Mei’s iconic hand gestures through photos, artifacts, documents and contemporary artwork.
