Exhibition celebrates 50th anniversary of Terracotta Warriors discovery

To mark the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the Terracotta Warriors, Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum unveiled the "Archaeological Discoveries at the Mausoleum Complex of China's First Emperor" exhibition On Sept 8.

The exhibition features 230 artifacts collected over the 50 years of excavations at the mausoleum, inviting visitors to step into the history of the prosperous Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC).

According to Ye Ye, deputy director of the museum's exhibition department, the exhibition is based on the archaeological discoveries at the mausoleum and focuses on its design concepts.

In addition to the Terracotta Army displays, the exhibition employs various presentation methods. These include large-scale sand tables, archaeological models, digital interactions, and live connections to enhance the visitor experience.

The exhibition is divided into eight sections that showcase the overall layout of the mausoleum, the ceremonial architecture, burial pits, accompanying tombs, and unearthed artifacts. It also explores the Qin Dynasty politics, economics, military affairs, art, social production, entertainment, and spiritual ideologies reflected by these sites and artifacts.
