On Aug 26, a performance of plant and grass dyeing in Huaqing Palace Scenic Area drew many curious tourists. In the hands of intangible cultural heritage artists, the natural shapes, veins, textures, and colors of the plants were soon transferred onto cotton cloths through processes of fixation, positioning, and striking.

To promote and develop cultural heritages, Huaqing Palace has launched a series of free intangible cultural heritage experience courses this summer, allowing tourists to experience the unique charm of traditional culture while sightseeing.

This initiative not only enhances the tourist experience but also revitalizes ancient intangible cultural heritage practices, providing a dynamic platform for the preservation and promotion of traditional Chinese culture.

Huaqing Palace, also known as Huaqing Pool, is located in the Lintong district of Xi'an, Shaanxi province. Founded in the early Tang Dynasty (618-907) and flourishing during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, it served as a royal hot spring palace in ancient China and one of China’s four major imperial gardens, alongside the Summer Palace, the Old Summer Palace and the Mountain Villa to Escape the Heat.
