A Chinese industry body urged the United States to correct its unilateralism and trade bullying practices targeting China's new energy vehicles and refrain from discriminatory subsidy policies, on Tuesday.

The Inflation Reduction Act enacted by the US includes provisions that impose discriminatory policies on Chinese products and the associated industrial supply chains within the NEV sector, said the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products in a statement.

These policies aim to limit the market access and growth of Chinese NEV manufacturers, favoring US players instead, said the national organization responsible for foreign trade in machinery products.

The organization expressed its support for the Chinese government's decision to file a complaint with the World Trade Organization against the discriminatory subsidy measures adopted by the US to safeguard the legitimate development rights and interests of China's NEV industry.

The organization urged the US to strictly adhere to its obligations under WTO rules, recognize the development patterns of the automotive industry, and immediately rectify discriminatory subsidy policies, putting an end to unilateralism and trade bullying practices.
