Neighboring the Changbei International Airport, the Meiling Ecological Tourism Resort in northwestern Nanchang city, Jiangxi province covers an area of 25.94 square kilometers.

Boasting a forest coverage rate of 70.23 percent and an annual air quality index of 93.9 percent, the resort is renowned for its high concentration of negative oxygen ions, earning it the title "the green lung of the city".

The resort is home to many tourist attractions, including Nanchang's central park; Mopan Mountain Forest Park, which is one of China’s first group of smart parks; Jiulongxi Ecological Park, the province's highest-altitude park; Yueliangwan Mountain Park, the first mountain park in the province; and the model of the provincial health-related theme park, Lingxiu Lake Park. The result is the combination of remarkable mountains and bodies of water with the urban area in a way that fully showcases the charm of “‘mountain-city integration’”.

Chinese legend has it that Ling Lun, who was in charge of court's music in ancient times, obtained water from the well at Hongya Danjing to refine elixirs and used bamboo to create music, while also creating the 12 fundamental pitches and establishing Meiling Mountain as the birthplace of classical Chinese music.

Today, Meiling has become a sacred centre of music. It has hosted some of Jiangxi's largest open-air music festivals in recent years, including the Ling Lun Music Festival, the Mid-Autumn Cloud Concert and Mopan Mountain Music Festival. It has also pioneered various cultural and tourism projects, including an AI Music Racetrack, a Music Museum, a Music Technology Museum and music-themed blocks. The resort has hosted other major events in recent years, such as the China Meiling International Off-Road Challenge and the Nanchang International Marathon.

The resort also has China's largest indoor go-kart racing arena and the province's first comprehensive low-altitude flying base. Visitors can enjoy themselves at the Xinlyu Pullman Resort Hotel, have a memorable stay at the Poly Crown Holiday Hotel, experience pastoral Zen-style living at Lingxi Valley, indulge in luxury camping at the Meiji Zhuyin Wilderness Resort, and encounter the poetry and isolation of Meiling. Visitors can climb Shifeng Peak, drink tea, taste the 12 flavors of Taiping, soak in health-enhancing hot springs and visit the "most beautiful factory in China" – Huarun River Traditional Chinese Medicine Valley. Meiling has become a poetic sanctuary for travelers who seek seclusion from the hustle and bustle without leaving the city.

In 2022, the resort received over 18 million visitors, generating a total tourism revenue of over 6 billion yuan ($825 million).
