The Beijing International Theater on Screen Week kicked off in Beijing on Thursday, uniting international artists from China, the United Kingdom, Russia and South Korea for a vibrant exchange featuring seven speeches and three discussions.

Across six venues in Beijing, including the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center and Beijing International Theater Center, approximately 20 screenings of international theatrical productions will captivate audiences.

Co-organized by the Beijing Theater Association, Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Beijing ATW Culture, this pioneering event spotlights the growing fusion of stage and screen experiences, offering a fresh and immersive approach to appreciating performing arts embraced by audiences worldwide.

On Thursday, esteemed guests, including Feng Yuanzheng, a seasoned actor, director, and the president of Beijing People's Art Theater; Dominic Dromgoole, the former artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe; and Leo Jordan, the head of marketing and distribution at the National Theatre, shared their insights on the production and dissemination of live theatrical performances on screens, while also introducing cutting-edge technologies.

Through to July 14, audiences in Beijing will be treated to a series of theatrical screenings, featuring productions such as Edward Scissorhands, a dance spectacle choreographed by Matthew Bourne, and The Bourgeois Gentleman, a rendition of Moliere's comedy produced by the Comedie-Francaise.
