Recently, police officers from Longling county in Yunnan province received a report from a resident who said that a small animal resembling a monkey had entered his home, and he suspected it to be a nationally protected animal. The police immediately rushed to the scene and identified the animal as a loris, a national first-class protected animal and a rare and endangered wild species. It was initially determined that the loris had likely gotten lost while foraging at night. [Video by The Convergence Media Center of Longling County]
