Zhoukou residents access seamless EV charging

To cater to the rising demand for electric vehicles, Zhoukou city in Henen province has introduced a green channel for EV charging pile installation applications. Customers only need to provide the necessary application materials, and they can complete the installation and connection with a single click.

"It’s incredibly convenient. I never thought installing a charging pile in my own parking space could be so easy, all done through my phone," said a Zhoukou resident surnamed Wang.

To address the surge in demand for charging pile installations, the State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Co has collaborated with government departments to systematically assess the remaining capacity of transformers in communities. They scientifically estimate the number of charging piles that can be installed in each community, providing reference and construction permits to property management companies. This service is designed to be time-saving, efficient, and cost-effective, ensuring reliable power for EV charging infrastructure projects.

Zhoukou has strongly supported individual charging pile installations by integrating data from car manufacturers, vehicle networks, and the State Grid's online platform. This unified approach coordinates users and pile installation service providers, allowing customers to complete the application and inspection processes online. This significantly enhances the convenience of EV charger installation and improves the overall charging service experience while reducing safety hazards in residential areas.

Public charging facilities have also been expanded to offer great convenience to users who cannot install personal chargers. As of now, the Zhoukou region boasts over 205 public charging stations and more than 1,209 charging piles, including over 866 DC piles and 343 AC piles, achieving comprehensive coverage across all counties, said State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Co.
