Collotype is a photolithographic printing technique introduced to China from Japan in the 19th century, having been extensively used for reproducing Chinese paintings. The Shanghai Museum has long been dedicated to researching, producing and expanding the collotype craft and has developed many cultural and creative products, allowing visitors to “bring home” artifacts through collotype reproductions.
