According to the artistic theories initiated by Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) artist Dong Qichang (1555-1636), ancient Chinese landscape paintings can be divided into a Southern School and a Northern School. The Southern School embodies a subtle elegance and has been pursued by generations of artists.

The Jilin Provincial Museum is holding an exhibition featuring its collection of the Southern School landscape paintings, inviting visitors to step into the beauty and rich cultural heritage of this distinguished art form.
