‘Discover Beautiful China’ contest announces 2023 winners

The 2023 “Discover Beautiful China” photo and short video contest, hosted by China Daily and co-organized by the China Daily Website, the China Daily app and the China Services Info platform (chinaservicesinfo.com), has announced its winners of the Best Awards for photos, illustrations and videos.

In the individual category, Zhang Zhengming won the Best Award (Photo) with the work Karst Pastoral Landscape, Liu Bo received the Best Award (Illustration) with the digital illustration Dreamlike Dunhuang, and the Best Award (Video) was granted to Qu Yuan for the work Listen.

In the organization category, Discover Beautiful Kunming submitted by the Kunming Daily won the Best Award (Photo). The Cultural Creative Design and Tourism Promotion of Gulinjing Tea Horse Road submitted by the Modern Design Art College of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics was granted the Best Award (Illustration). Love in Shandong (Overseas Edition of City Promotional Videos) submitted by the Shandong Provincial Tourism Promotion Center received the Best Award (Video).

In addition to these awards, the individual category also honored 11 Leading Awards and 23 Excellence Awards. The organization category recognized 10 Leading Awards and 20 Excellence Awards. The contest also commended nine organizations for their excellence and contribution.

The contest opened for submission in August, inviting individuals and organizations at home and abroad to capture the scenery of China, cityscapes in China, customs unique to China, and cultural heritages of China, and to spread their unique Chinese stories. More than 3,000 entries were received.
