As the Spring Festival draws near, Beijing is set to host a series of cultural activities, intensifying the festive atmosphere in the capital, as reported by the Beijing Daily.

Emphasizing traditional elements of the Spring Festival, iconic temple fairs at Ditan Park, Longtan Park, Changdian, and Badachu Park are set to be fully restored. Traditional flower exhibitions and various park activities will grace venues such as the Summer Palace, Zhongshan Park, Yuyuantan Park, and Hongluo Temple.

Additionally, districts across the city will organize folk activities, including lantern shows, flower exhibitions, traditional riddle guessing, and Lantern Festival celebrations, offering citizens an immersive experience in the festive atmosphere.

Renowned as a unique Spring Festival memory for native Beijing citizens and recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, this year's Changdian temple fair will focus on Beijing's central axis, stretching 7.8 kilometers through the capital.

The city plans to enhance the festive ambiance by decorating streets and alleys with lanterns, couplets, flags, and scenic installations, extending the duration of nighttime landscape lighting during the festival.

Throughout the Spring Festival, citizens can look forward to a diverse array of performances, exhibitions, and reading activities.

Over 150 theaters, 100 museums, and 500 bookstores will open their doors to the public, offering nearly 2000 high-quality performances. Productions like A Dream in Red Mansions and Carmen will be showcased at venues including the National Centre for the Performing Arts and Poly Theater, with Sanlitun area hosting over a thousand small-scale concerts and stand-up comedy shows.

Capitalizing on its status as a dual Olympic city, Beijing will launch nearly 100 "ice and snow plus" tourism projects, inviting citizens and tourists to enjoy winter activities. Collaborating with Tianjin and Hebei province, the city will organize lunar new year activities featuring traditional opera, intangible cultural heritage, museums, and libraries.

To enhance the overall experience, public transportation services will be optimized, with increased services around popular areas like temple fairs, scenic spots, and commercial complexes. The 12345 hotline will operate around the clock, ensuring that citizens and tourists can enjoy a joyful and safe Spring Festival holiday with prompt assistance for any concerns or complaints.
