This Warring States Period (475-221 BC) sword measures 65.2 cm in length and 5 cm in width. Its round hilt is adorned with parallel rings and exquisite gold-inlaid patterns.
Gold inscriptions written in bird-worm seal script can be found inlaid on the hilt and on both sides of the sword, indicating the name of its owner - Manggu, a grandson of King Goujian of the Yue State.
The sword is hailed as a masterpiece of its time and is one of the most treasured artifacts in the history of Chinese weaponry. It is now in the permanent collection of the Hainan Museum.
