China's visa-free entry policy for ordinary passport holders from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia was implemented on Friday, attracting 2,029 individuals from these countries to enter China on the first day, the National Immigration Administration said on Saturday.

Among them, Malaysian nationals had the highest number on that day, with 1,113 entries, French nationals recorded 227 visa-free entries, showing the highest increase compared with the previous day among the six countries, with a growth rate of 52.31 percent.

Furthermore, the overall number of individuals entering China from these six countries increased by 12.54 percent compared with the previous day, according to NIA.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the visa-free entry policy and to further promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign individuals, immigration authorities nationwide have optimized on-site guidance, maximized inspection channels, and ensured efficient and smooth customs clearance at entry points, according to an official from the NIA.

Additionally, the NIA has instructed exit and entry administration departments in different regions to provide convenient residence services for visa-free entry individuals following laws and regulations, added the official.
