At the Shanghan village in Changzhi city, Shanxi province, 27 tombs dating from the late Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) to the mid Warring States Period (475-221 BC) were excavated. The types of pottery unearthed from these tombs reflect the gradual integration of the Jin indigenous culture. The archaeological finds supplement the shortage of burial materials of that period in Changzhi.
