On Sept 12, the Third Greater Bay Area Cultural and Art Festival opened with the spectacular Tides of the Bay traditional Chinese opera gala, at the Guangdong Friendship Theatre in Guangzhou. Leading figures from various Chinese opera genres, as well as seasoned and emerging "Plum Blossom Award" winners took the stage, showcasing the contemporary allure of the traditional performing arts.
