Yotkan city displays 13 centuries of history along the ancient Silk Road

The ancient Yotkan city in Hotan prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, amazes tourists by reproducing traditional trade and arts along the ancient Silk Road. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The attraction has old castles, a food street, a jade block, a folk customs street, bars, bed-and-breakfasts and cultural exhibition halls. During the day, visitors can view scenes of trade caravans marching on the roads and changing of the guard ceremonies, and catch a glimpse of daily life. At night, a light show and performance of dancing and singing tell the history of the city.
