Night economy boosts Sanya's tourism consumption

In recent years, the night economy has become a new driver of Sanya's tourism consumption market.

Three spots in Sanya, namely Mangrove Tree Resort World Sanya Bay, Luhuitou Scenic Area, and Sanya Silk Road Paradise, were among the first batch of night cultural and tourism consumption clusters in Hainan province.

Mangrove Tree Resort World Sanya Bay integrates various cultural and tourism consumption spaces, including food, shopping, entertainment and leisure. With a 150,000-square-meter commercial street housing numerous renowned brand-name merchants, it breathes life into Sanya's cultural and tourism nightlife.

At the Luhuitou Scenic Area, visitors can take photos with Sanya's iconic sculptures while learning about the culture of the Li ethnic group. They can also experience interactive activities, folk performances, and drone shows.

From the beginning of this year until July 31, Luhuitou has received 1.24 million visitors, with 490,000 of them visiting during the night, accounting for 39.5 percent of the total.

At Sanya Silk Road Paradise, visitors can enjoy various entertainment facilities during the day. At night, they can indulge in a large-scale live performance called Red Detachment of Women. The visitor count at Sanya Silk Road Paradise during the night has already exceeded 100,000 this year.

In addition to the listed locations, Sanya Fenghuangling Haishishanmeng Scenic Area, and Yiheng Night Market also offer diverse night experiences. Around the city's commercial centers such as Lanhai Shopping Plaza and Jiefang Road, there are clusters of nighttime recreational areas featuring food, shopping, and entertainment. Places like Shangpin Street, the First Market, and Linwang Night Market are bustling with excitement.

Moreover, since the launch of the nighttime yacht charter pilot operation in Sanya in April this year, the passenger volume has exceeded 3,000.

In recent years, Sanya has introduced action plans to encourage the development of the night economy, which has injected new energy into the city.
