Xi'an emerges as hot summer travel destination

Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, ranked among the top 10 in multiple lists, according to the latest 2023 Summer Travel Market Report released by online travel platform Ctrip.

The report shows that since the Spring Festival this year, the popularity of Xi'an has been continuously rising, ranking among the top 10 popular destination cities in the country for a long time.

The number of summer orders to Xi'an has increased by 164 percent compared to the previous year.

Some of the most popular summer destinations for Xi'an residents are Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Hanzhong, and Chongqing.

The report also shows that Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, the busiest domestic airport this summer, ranks sixth and is the only airport in Northwest China to make the list.

The famous attractions in Shaanxi this summer include Mount Huashan, Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, Xi'an City Wall, Xi'an Bell Tower and Drum Tower, Huaqing Palace, Tang Paradise, Daming Palace National Heritage Park, Xi'an Holiday Resort and Shaanxi History Museum.
