A signing ceremony was held on Tuesday in Tianjin to mark investment from Taiwan to Tianjin reaching 4.92 billion yuan ($674.7 million) during the first seven months of the year.
The ceremony was part of the 14th Tianjin-Taiwan investment and cooperation seminar which began Tuesday.
Statistics indicate to date, a total of 2,602 Taiwan companies have invested in Tianjin, with a combined investment value of $18.2 billion.
Wang Yi-wen, a Taiwan investor who runs her business in Baodi district, said: "I find great opportunities in the rural revitalization on the mainland, so I set up in the agricultural sector and cultural tourism."
Yang Chueh-Chun, a Taiwan businessman whose company operates the online portal of the seminar, said he has seen enormous interest from potential cooperators with investment projects from Taiwan.
"On the morning of the first day of the seminar, we have found up to 800 online requests to contact project owners," he said.
