Archaeological sites in Zhejiang reveal ancient lifestyles from 2,000 years ago

A seminar held in Zhejiang revealed the recent archaeological finds of the two Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770-256 BC) sites – Dahutou site and Nanshan site in Shaoxing city, Zhejiang province.

Pottery shards, plant remains, building materials and musical instruments found in the Dahutou site reveal the details of people’s lives of the Yue State. Pottery, stone ware, bronze tools, plant and animal remains, and bronze ge (dagger-axe) with bird-and-insect script characters discovered at the Nanshan site reflect the high level of civilization. More archaeological clues for research on the history and culture of the Yue State are expected in the future.
