Fabulous! The Uyghur Muqam was performed at the Muqam Culture and Art Center in Yarkant county, Kashgar, Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region, on June 2, offering an audio-visual feast for audiences.
Xinjiang Uyghur Muqam refers to a variety of songs, dances, folk and classical music. It is characterized by diversity of content, choreography, musical styles and instruments. It was designated a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008.
