The Zhejiang Museum’s permanent collection boasts a unique bronze miniature house, the only one of its kind among discovered bronze ware predating the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC).

In the shade cast through the lattice window, four musicians and two observers – all in a kneeling position – are engaging in a musical performance. A house in such a style was likely used as a shrine for worshiping in ancient times.

The architectural style, decorative patterns, and hairstyles of the human figures are believed to exemplify the ancient Yue culture that thrived in Zhejiang.
