Brothers Shi Jian and Shi De made a fortune at the foot of Helan Mountain in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region by developing their own logistics business.
Every day, they loaded trucks at wineries and drove to their distribution center before sending bottles across the country. During peak season, they sometimes worked until midnight.
The Helan Mountain wine-producing region produces 138 million bottles of wine each year and sells them in some 40 countries and regions, including France and Germany. The industry has presented opportunities for young people.
Three years ago, the brothers rented a logistics station and worked as drivers, couriers, packers and customer service agents. Business is booming, and they plan to expand to a larger warehouse next year.
They moved from an impoverished remote village to Honghai village in Hongsibu, Wuzhong, thanks to a policy to improve people's livelihoods. Many young people have focused their energy on the wine industry as farmers, winemakers, tour guides and livestreaming anchors.
