On April 29, the Guangzhou Maritime Museum kicked off an exhibit on cultural relics from Xinjiang – a crucial location along the ancient Silk Road. A total of 136 pieces of silk and fabric, slips with the languages of multiple ethnic groups, sculptures, murals, jewelry, pottery and bronze, dating from before the 3rd century BC to the 14th century, are on display. You can get a glimpse of the prosperity and grandeur of the ancient Silk Road. The exhibit will run through Oct 29.
