This pottery figurine from the Sui Dynasty (581-618) is truly a sight to behold. Standing on a rectangular base, the red and white glazed horse exudes elegance and power, complete with saddle and bridle. The warrior riding the horse has a peaceful expression on his smiling face, donning a hat and armor. Unfortunately, the weapon in his left hand is missing.

This rare treasure was unearthed from the tomb of Xu Minxing – an official at that time – and his wife in 1976, in Jiaxiang county, Jining city, Shandong province. Now, it's a national first-class cultural relic and proudly displayed in the permanent collection of the Jining Museum.
