The historical drama The Communist Manifesto greeted audiences at the Gengsu Theater in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on March 22. Set against the backdrop of the Guangzhou Uprising in 1927, the drama is a salute to the communists and their dedication to the revolutionary cause.
The drama swept the Best Production, Director and Playwright at the 10th Wenhua Award in 2002, the top award for performing arts in China.
