Achievements in major sectors have been made since the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development initiative was announced nine years ago, the Beijing government said on Thursday.

Beijing, China's capital, has made progress in urban management, sub-city center construction, transportation and environmental protection, together with neighboring Hebei province and Tianjin municipality.

According to the city's development and reform commission, the area of construction land has been reduced by 120 square kilometers, making Beijing the first of its kind among mega-cities in China.

Since 2014, Beijing has removed more than 3,000 manufacturing enterprises and enterprises with serious pollution problems out of the city and relocated about 1,000 markets and logistics centers.

With Beijing's assistance, three schools and a hospital were built in the Xiong'an New Area. Forty schools and five medical institutions in Beijing have established partner relations with institutions in Xiong'an. More than 100 projects there have received investment by State-owned companies in Beijing.

Beijing has been providing more resources to its two neighbors. It has established 15 cross-regional vocational education unions, 22 college development unions and launched 50 medical cooperation projects with Hebei and Tianjin over the past nine years.
