The Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) octagonal blue-and-white plate depicts Chang’e with her rabbit companion. Chang’e is in a flowing robe standing in a courtyard. A Ruyi head pattern and double string pattern embellish the edge.

It is a rare piece dating back to Longqing’s reign (1567-1572). The dark blue color was fired from cobalt pigment imported from the Western Region.

The plate is a treasure in the permanent collection of the Guangdong Provincial Museum.
