Falling on March 21 each year, Nowruz Festival, which marks the first day of spring, is celebrated by people in Tashikurgan Tajik autonomous county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Local people visit friends and relatives to express their blessings, and farmers and herdsmen hold traditional sports activities.
