Huangguoshu National Park in Southwest China's Guizhou province was included on the Green List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on Dec 10.

The list was released at the COP 15, which is being held in Montreal, Canada until Dec 19. It includes 18 nature reserves, 11 of which are in China, three in Mexico, two in Peru, one in France and one in Zambia.

Huangguoshu National Park is 128 kilometers away from Guiyang. The park's Huangguoshu Waterfall is 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide, making it the largest in Asia and a must-see spot in Guizhou.

James Hardcastle, a senior official at the IUCN, said that China has invested in the construction of thousands of nature reserves, and has plentiful experience which the world can learn and benefit from.

The Green List is a global initiative to protect the natural environment. It certifies nature reserves that have effective management, fair governance and long-term positive influence on humans and nature.
