On Dec 4, 3,913 patients were released from hospital after being cured (103 imported cases; 3,810 indigenous cases, 1,649 in Guangdong province, 674 in Beijing municipality, 272 in Chongqing municipality, 269 in Shanxi province, 236 in Henan province, 170 in Sichuan province, 95 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 80 in Heilongjiang province, 54 in Shandong province, 44 in Jiangsu province, 43 in Yunnan province, 38 in Hebei province, 30 in Liaoning province, 27 in Zhejiang province, 21 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 18 in Fujian province, 18 in Guizhou province, 10 in Anhui province, 9 in Hubei province, 9 in Qinghai province, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 8 in Shaanxi province, 8 in Gansu province, 7 in Jilin province, 7 in Hunan province and 6 in Shanghai municipality). 281,917 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Dec 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 27,832 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 27,207 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 625 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 340,483 confirmed cases and 5,235 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 294,615 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 40,633 confirmed cases (including 106 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 14,041,128 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 1,979,618 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Dec 4, 8,834,022 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 463,977 in Hong Kong (10,806 had died and 100,251 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 819 in Macao (6 had died and 791 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,369,226 in Taiwan (14,478 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
