On Nov 17, 1,057 patients were released from hospital after being cured (51 imported cases; 1,006 indigenous cases, 528 in Guangdong province, 150 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 99 in Shanxi province, 53 in Chongqing municipality, 38 in Sichuan province, 32 in Beijing municipality, 31 in Fujian province, 23 in Hunan province, 9 in Shaanxi province, 8 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 6 in Henan province, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Hainan province, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Gansu province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Yunnan province). 103,437 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 18.

As of 24:00 on Nov 17, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 26,691 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 26,115 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 576 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 17, the National Health Commission had received reports of 281,793 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 258,090 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 18,477 confirmed cases (including 61 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 9,664,588 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 1,007,834 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Nov 17, 8,560,070 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 447,041 in Hong Kong (10,569 had died and 95,361 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 795 in Macao (6 had died and 789 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,112,234 in Taiwan (13,791 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
