Guangyuan beckons tourists

On Nov 11, the 13th Sichuan Rural Cultural Tourism Festival (Autumn) opened in Tangjiahe tourist area, Qingchuan county, Guangyuan city, with the Dashudao Cultural Tourism Festival also kicking off on the same day.

The city is ready to captivate visitors from near and far with five boutique tourism routes.

Three Kingdoms culture tourism route

The Three Kingdoms (220-280) culture fans are recommended to visit two adjacent national 4A level scenic spots, Jianmen Pass and Cuiyun Gallery. Here people can enjoy fenced walls, a sea of cypresses, and Shu Road, by far the first and the best-preserved man-made ancient post road with the longest service life in China.

Among the must-see spots are also Zhaohua ancient town, reputed as the first county in the Ba-Shu area" and "the second capital of Shu", and the Mingyue Gorge, the major traffic passage connecting Sichuan and Shaanxi, and the starting point of the national historic and scenic site of Jianmen Shu Road.

Hometown of Empress Wu tourism route

The Huangze Temple, sitting on the banks of the Jialing River, tells stories of the only empress in Chinese history, while the Thousand Buddha Cliffside Statues catalog a long history dating back to the Northern Wei Dynasty (386–534).

Along the way, visitors are expected to marvel at the picturesque mountains and rivers, the fresh air, rich history and culture.

Healthcare tourism route

Along the route, people will enjoy the sprawling autumn scenery and ecological environment of Zengjia Mountain, the Tangjiahe Nature Reserve, Gucheng Mountain, Qilixia and Bailong Palace.

Visitors are welcome to experience some of the unique curative effects of beauty, health and fitness brought by Jianmenguan Tianci Hot Spring, Guangyuan Queen Hot Spring, and Wangcangluting Hot Spring.

Rural tourism route

In addition to exploring the national-level rural tourism villages of Yueba, Yinping and Zhangjia, visitors will enjoy an unforgettable experience viewing the golden pear trees of Cangxi Pear Culture Expo Park, and tasting the authentic local delicacies, fresh melons and fruits of Nanshan Mountain.

Red tourism route

Guangyuan is rich in red tourism sites, such as the Mumen War Council site and the Red Army Ferry Scenic Spot. It is a good place to cherish the memory of revolutionary martyrs and pay tribute to the spirit of the Red Army's Long March.
