Changsha ware is a famous type of Tang Dynasty (618-907) ceramics from southern China that was mostly used as daily kitchenware.
This greenish-yellow glazed jar with two handles boasts curling cloud and lotus patterns made up of brown and green dots. Its size, exquisite patterns and glaze make it a precious treasure.
Excavated from the Tangcheng site in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province in 1974, the celadon jar is in the permanent collection of the Yangzhou Museum.
