On Nov 5, 267 patients were released from hospital after being cured (60 imported cases; 207 indigenous cases, 41 in Guangdong province, 40 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 36 in Shaanxi province, 15 in Beijing municipality, 13 in Zhejiang province, 12 in Shanxi province, 11 in Jiangsu province, 7 in Sichuan province, 7 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 6 in Chongqing municipality, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 72,745 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 26,071 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 25,539 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 532 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, the National Health Commission had received reports of 263,554 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 252,004 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 6,324 confirmed cases (including 29 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 8,245,791 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 683,131 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 5, 758 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (99 imported cases; 659 indigenous cases, 92 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 90 in Guangdong province, 63 in Yunnan province, 53 in Shaanxi province, 51 in Sichuan province, 49 in Hubei province, 36 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 31 in Shandong province, 28 in Shanxi province, 26 in Zhejiang province, 24 in Tianjin municipality, 20 in Jiangsu province, 14 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 12 in Hebei province, 11 in Chongqing municipality, 10 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Heilongjiang province, 7 in Tibet autonomous region, 6 in Qinghai province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Anhui province, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Guizhou province). 147 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 31,151 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,133 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 8,302,033 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 438,045 in Hong Kong (10,457 had died and 92,616 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 795 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,863,193 in Taiwan (13,151 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
