On Oct 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 215 new cases of confirmed infections (56 imported cases, 17 in Guangdong province, 16 in Fujian province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Chongqing municipality; 159 indigenous cases, 33 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 19 in Guangdong province, 18 in Beijing municipality, 13 in Henan province, 13 in Shaanxi province, 11 in Shanxi province, 9 in Hunan province, 8 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 6 in Chongqing municipality, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Guizhou province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 22 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 7 in Henan province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Guizhou province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 21, 382 patients were released from hospital after being cured (56 imported cases; 326 indigenous cases, 122 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 28 in Shanxi province, 27 in Sichuan province, 27 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 21 in Guangdong province, 19 in Chongqing municipality, 13 in Beijing municipality, 11 in Jiangsu province, 11 in Hunan province, 8 in Liaoning province, 8 in Hainan province, 7 in Guizhou province, 7 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Yunnan province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Anhui province). 60,724 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on Oct 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 25,329 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 24,705 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 624 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 21, the National Health Commission had received reports of 257,155 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 247,943 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,986 confirmed cases (including 13 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 7,125,408 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 470,926 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 791 new asymptomatic cases (133 imported cases; 658 indigenous cases, 125 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 74 in Guangdong province, 67 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 53 in Tianjin municipality, 39 in Yunnan province, 38 in Hunan province, 37 in Hubei province, 37 in Shaanxi province, 22 in Sichuan province, 19 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 18 in Jiangsu province, 17 in Shandong province, 16 in Shanxi province, 16 in Shanghai municipality, 14 in Henan province, 11 in Qinghai province, 10 in Hebei province, 10 in Zhejiang province, 8 in Heilongjiang province, 8 in Anhui province, 8 in Gansu province, 5 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 4 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Chongqing municipality).

On Oct 21, 1,043 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (109 imported cases; 934 indigenous cases, 332 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 215 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 49 in Hubei province, 49 in Gansu province, 43 in Tibet autonomous region, 28 in Guizhou province, 25 in Anhui province, 23 in Shanghai municipality, 18 in Chongqing municipality, 17 in Henan province, 13 in Heilongjiang province, 13 in Jiangsu province, 13 in Shaanxi province, 12 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 11 in Shanxi province, 11 in Yunnan province, 10 in Guangdong province, 9 in Sichuan province, 8 in Liaoning province, 7 in Zhejiang province, 6 in Jilin province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Shandong province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Hunan province and 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 25 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 21, 15,409 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,049 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 21, 7,807,610 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 427,612 in Hong Kong (10,315 had died and 89,323 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,379,205 in Taiwan (12,206 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
