Farmers in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, were busy working on their farms recently as they looked forward to a bumper harvest this year — and more revenue.
In the golden days of autumn, they are harvesting and then sorting, drying and storing their grain. It's a delightful scene in many villages.
As of Oct 13, the city had completed the harvest on 162,200 hectares of farmland, including 154,000 hectares of corn. It expects to finish the job by November.
Meanwhile, the city has finished sowing winter wheat on 79,600 hectares — about 28 percent of this year's scheduled cultivation.
