On Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 372 new cases of confirmed infections (50 imported cases, 17 in Fujian province, 17 in Guangdong province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Sichuan province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province; 322 indigenous cases, 64 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 53 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 36 in Guangdong province, 32 in Liaoning province, 29 in Sichuan province, 24 in Shanxi province, 13 in Chongqing municipality, 12 in Beijing municipality, 12 in Henan province, 9 in Yunnan province, 9 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 5 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Guizhou province, 3 in Tibet autonomous region, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Anhui province, including 70 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 19 in Sichuan province, 13 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Guangdong province, 5 in Yunnan province, 4 in Shanxi province, 4 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Anhui province and 1 in Guizhou province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 12, 235 patients were released from hospital after being cured (55 imported cases; 180 indigenous cases, 57 in Sichuan province, 38 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 34 in Guizhou province, 20 in Guangdong province, 6 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Shanxi province, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 39,224 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,818 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 24,200 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 618 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 254,855 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 245,232 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 4,397 confirmed cases (including 13 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 6,538,703 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 371,149 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 12, 512 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (78 imported cases; 434 indigenous cases, 89 in Guizhou province, 51 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 50 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 38 in Tibet autonomous region, 35 in Sichuan province, 33 in Heilongjiang province, 19 in Tianjin municipality, 19 in Guangdong province, 14 in Liaoning province, 11 in Gansu province, 10 in Shaanxi province, 9 in Shandong province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Yunnan province, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Hebei province, 4 in Hunan province, 3 in Shanxi province, 3 in Anhui province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 77 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 14,345 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 890 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 7,419,835 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 421,666 in Hong Kong (10,246 had died and 87,346 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,997,376 in Taiwan (11,657 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
