On Oct 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 434 new cases of confirmed infections (61 imported cases, 27 in Guangdong province, 15 in Fujian province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Shandong province, including 9 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Sichuan province; 373 indigenous cases, 119 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 70 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 31 in Guangdong province, 28 in Yunnan province, 25 in Shanxi province, 18 in Sichuan province, 13 in Beijing municipality, 11 in Henan province, 10 in Chongqing municipality, 9 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Fujian province, 5 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Hunan province, 4 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Hainan province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Jiangsu province, including 61 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 26 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 9 in Sichuan province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region), no deaths, and 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality).

On Oct 9, 166 patients were released from hospital after being cured (56 imported cases; 110 indigenous cases, 30 in Sichuan province, 16 in Guangdong province, 15 in Guizhou province, 13 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 10 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 6 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Yunnan province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Hainan province). 38,528 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Oct 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,661 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 24,015 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 646 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Oct 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 253,575 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 244,463 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,886 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 6,361,282 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 290,737 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,672 new asymptomatic cases (106 imported cases; 1,566 indigenous cases, 559 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 376 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 76 in Sichuan province, 68 in Gansu province, 49 in Yunnan province, 49 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 48 in Hubei province, 45 in Henan province, 41 in Anhui province, 31 in Shanghai municipality, 26 in Liaoning province, 24 in Guangdong province, 23 in Tibet autonomous region, 20 in Hebei province, 18 in Jiangsu province, 18 in Hunan province, 17 in Chongqing municipality, 17 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Shanxi province, 11 in Shandong province, 8 in Guizhou province, 7 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Jilin province, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Heilongjiang province).

On Oct 9, 561 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (69 imported cases; 492 indigenous cases, 178 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 122 in Heilongjiang province, 32 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 31 in Guizhou province, 24 in Sichuan province, 18 in Tibet autonomous region, 12 in Tianjin municipality, 11 in Shaanxi province, 8 in Shandong province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in Gansu province, 6 in Hebei province, 6 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Hubei province, 5 in Yunnan province, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hainan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Qinghai province). 70 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 9 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 9, 12,084 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 878 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 9, 7,291,952 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 419,621 in Hong Kong (10,218 had died and 86,762 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,871,538 in Taiwan (11,527 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
