On Oct 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 288 new cases of confirmed infections (72 imported cases, 27 in Guangdong province, 17 in Fujian province, 7 in Yunnan province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Henan province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Sichuan province; 216 indigenous cases, 42 in Sichuan province, 41 in Guangdong province, 23 in Chongqing municipality, 23 in Yunnan province, 13 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Shanxi province, 7 in Hainan province, 6 in Hunan province, 6 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 5 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Tibet autonomous region, 5 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Shandong province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guizhou province, including 48 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 15 in Sichuan province, 7 in Guangdong province, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Yunnan province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Henan province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Oct 6, 214 patients were released from hospital after being cured (64 imported cases; 150 indigenous cases, 61 in Sichuan province, 18 in Heilongjiang province, 18 in Tibet autonomous region, 15 in Guizhou province, 9 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 7 in Guangdong province, 6 in Yunnan province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province). 20,589 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Oct 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 24,484 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 23,856 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 628 confirmed cases (1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 252,137 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 243,954 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,957 confirmed cases (including 19 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 6,205,653 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 224,650 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 6, 621 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (77 imported cases; 544 indigenous cases, 133 in Heilongjiang province, 127 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 79 in Tibet autonomous region, 54 in Guizhou province, 52 in Sichuan province, 29 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 14 in Tianjin municipality, 10 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Guangdong province, 6 in Gansu province, 6 in Qinghai province, 5 in Shandong province, 3 in Anhui province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Hainan province, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 54 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 6, 9,544 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 800 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 6, 7,150,519 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 417,787 in Hong Kong (10,200 had died and 86,038 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 6,731,939 in Taiwan (11,337 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
