Huangling village, situated in Wuyuan county, Jiangxi province, has a history of more than 500 years. With its picturesque terraces, typical Hui-style buildings, seas of rapeseed flowers, and colorful harvests in autumn, it is one of the most beautiful villages in China and has long been a popular destination for tourists, painters, and photographers.
Hundreds of Hui-style folk houses, with black roof tiles and white walls, are well preserved in Huangling village. Every autumn, the flaming maple leaves complement harvested crops put on the roofs to dry by villagers, such as corn and red chilis. They create a unique and colorful landscape in the village, which has been awarded the title “The most beautiful icon of China.”
