On Sept 12, a local media reporter went to the Tangjiahe area of the Giant Panda National Park in Guangyuan, Sichuan province, to track takins' footprints. In the one-hour's drive from one protection station to another, he encountered the adorable creature four times.

A field research conservation center established in Tangjiahe has tracked takin groups, the largest wild herbivore in the area, for 10 years. It has found that the population of this national first-class protected species has increased to 1,300.
